An acoustic trio that specialise in 80s and 90s covers, Thrill Collins are part of the nu-skiffle movement and of the larger Cheltenham folk music scene. The band will be playing both Friday and Saturday nights of the festival, so you will get a double helping of their delightful sounds. Check out the full line-up and buy tickets now!
Thrill Collins are most noted for their application of the skiffle genre to modern music. Taking inspiration from the DIY ethics of the movement and artists such as Lonnie Donegan, The Vipers and The Quarrymen they have sought to replicate the style and humour that is so closely associated with the genre. Using the trio set-up of guitar, upright bass the band substituted the traditional washboard percussion for the Cuban cajon.
2010 has seen Thrill Collins play numerous festivals across the UK including a headline slot on the acoustic stage at Wychwood Festival, 2000 Trees and a European tour. The band also played the opening night of the Cheltenham Jazz Festival alongside Joe Stilgoe and Imelda May. Catch them whilst you can at Walk the Line... they're off on a US tour in November! Thrill Collins played Walk the Line Festival in 2009.
